Mindset, the Nervous System & Creating Space for Abundance

When people hear the phrase abundance mindset, they often think of wealth, success, or the idea of “manifesting” more into their lives. While these concepts are discussed in many different ways, there is another perspective that feels deeply aligned with how I approach healing through the body.
Our beliefs and our nervous system influence how we show up in the world. In turn, the way we show up shapes the opportunities we notice, create, and choose to act upon.
Abundance is not simply about receiving more. It is also about becoming available to what is already possible.

The Stories We Carry
Each of us develops beliefs over a lifetime through our experiences, relationships, culture, and challenges. Sometimes those beliefs become quiet assumptions that influence our daily choices without us realizing it.
Examples might include:
“I have to earn rest.”
“I need to do everything myself.”
“I’m not ready yet.”
“If I ask for help, I’ll be a burden.”
“Success requires constant struggle.”
These beliefs are not personal failures. They are often protective patterns that once helped us navigate difficult circumstances.
With awareness, however, we gain the opportunity to choose whether those stories still serve us.
The Nervous System Shapes Our Experience
Our nervous system does much more than respond to stress. It continually filters what feels safe, possible, and worthy of our attention. When we live in a state of chronic stress, survival becomes the priority.
In that state, we may find ourselves:
avoiding opportunities because they feel overwhelming
hesitating to try something new
doubting our abilities
staying small to avoid disappointment
focusing on what might go wrong instead of what could go right
When the nervous system begins to regulate, our perspective often changes.
We become more present.
More creative.
More resilient.
More capable of recognizing opportunities that may have been there all along.
Healing Creates Capacity
One of the beautiful aspects of bodywork is that it creates space.
As tension softens and the nervous system settles, many people notice that their thinking becomes clearer. Decisions feel less reactive. They become more connected to themselves and better able to move toward what truly matters.
Healing does not magically eliminate life’s challenges.
Instead, it expands our capacity to meet those challenges with greater clarity and intention.
Abundance Begins with Awareness
Abundance doesn’t always arrive as a dramatic breakthrough.
Sometimes it looks like:
having the courage to make an important phone call
noticing a new opportunity
setting a healthy boundary
investing in your own growth
accepting support from others
trusting yourself enough to take the next small step
These moments often create ripple effects that lead to meaningful change over time.
Supporting the Conditions for Growth
Just as healthy soil allows a garden to flourish, our bodies and minds benefit from supportive conditions.
Simple practices can help create those conditions:
Prioritize restorative sleep.
Stay hydrated and nourish your body consistently.
Move throughout the day.
Practice mindful breathing.
Spend time in nature.
Create moments of stillness and reflection.
Seek meaningful connection with others.
Consider therapeutic support when your body feels stuck in patterns of chronic stress.
These practices do not guarantee specific outcomes, but they help cultivate a foundation from which clarity, resilience, and possibility can grow.
Returning to Flow
At Flow State Lymphatics & Energy Wellness, I believe the body is continually moving toward balance when given the right support.
Whether through CranioSacral Therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, or gentle restorative bodywork, the intention is not to “fix” you. It is to help create an environment where your body can remember its own capacity for regulation, healing, and renewal.
As your internal state changes, the way you engage with the world often changes as well.
Your beliefs and your nervous system influence how you show up, which shapes the opportunities you notice, create, and act on.
Perhaps abundance isn’t something we chase.
Perhaps it is something we become more available to as we cultivate awareness, restore balance, and continue moving forward, one intentional step at a time.
